This
splendid Manor House with its peaceful gardens has proved to be
the ideal environment for the pupils of our Early Years and Junior
departments. We could not have predicted just how proud the pupils
would be of having such an historic and inspiring setting in which
to enjoy academic, sporting and leisure activities. The school
has achieved considerable success since it opened in 2002 and
we now feel that this is the perfect time to offer the same successful
formula to children embarking upon their Senior
education.
By
remaining true to our ethos of "an excellent education for all,
based on small classes and individual attention," we offer a unique
alternative to the large senior schools of today. We offer the
opportunity for children to continue to be educated in the happy,
caring and secure environment they have experienced at junior
school level as opposed to the often daunting prospect of transferring
to a large senior school. To ensure continuity and a smooth, steady
growth, we will add a year group each September, finally adding
Year 11 by the year 2009. After sitting their G.C.S.E. examinations,
pupils would then transfer to one of the excellent sixth form
schools and colleges we are fortunate to have in the area, or
pursue one of the many alternative options for pupils at this
stage in their education.Fees are very competitive and additionally,
we are delighted to be able to offer a 30% academic scholarship
to one pupil each year entering year 7. This generous award will
benefit the successful pupils throughout their time at Wickham
Court School.
