Years 4 and 10 Studying Gases Together

This week in Science, Years 4 and 10 worked together to learn about gases. They started off by reviewing the 3 states of matter and particle models, which Year 4 have been studying this term. Before attending the joint science session, Year 4 had super fun enacting the behaviour of particles in each state of matter. They then focused on gases and were very surprised to discover that gasses have weight. As part of the work with Year 10 the children did an experiment to produce hydrogen gas and tested it with a burning splint. There were lots of surprised faces hearing the squeaky pop!! Then it was time for the observing the methane bubble experiment. Year 4 would like to say a big thank you Mrs. Elkhatib and Year 10.
