Year 5

In Literacy, Year 5 have been composing their own poems in groups. We have been experimenting with lots of different structures.

Here is one of the poems composed by Elianna, Harrison and Jack.

Santa's coming to town!
Santa is flying high in his sleigh,
Children in their beds they lay.
Santa is finally on his way,
With a sack full of toys for the children to play.


Santa visits every house,
Quietly creeping just like a mouse.
Then off Santa goes with his empty sack,
ShoutingMerry Christmas as he rides on back.


Children wake up happy and glee,
Look out of the window-What can they see?
A blanket of snow fills the garden below,
Christmas jumpers go on and out they go
