Year 3

This week, Year 3 have been busy exploring the concept of division and learning about what it means to divide and how to divide using a range of both mental and written strategies. Using the Bus Stop method, for dividing by a single digit, Year 3 were able to solve problems. They also used their knowledge of inverse to check calculations were accurate.
Chunking has also been introduced this week to solve more complex problems. This is a fantastic written method that encourages children to think carefully about what they are doing at each step of the calculation. In essence, this method reiterates that division and repeated subtraction go hand in hand.. Well done Y3 for mastering such a ! Your Maths skills are as always amazing!
