On Monday 4th March Year five confidently performed their class assembly to the Prep school. The theme of the assembly was Literacy Week. The children outlined all the activities that were going to be undertaken during the week, including the expressive reading competition, Character Dress Up Day and the book swap.
It was an exciting interactive assembly, totally engaging the audience. Clues from book characters were shared as Year 5 became the characters and the audience guessed the books from which they were chosen. Choosing books to suit the range of different age groups, the children each shared their personal love of reading, recited poetry and even sang songs about reading that they had composed themselves.
Huge thank you to Year 5 for starting a fantastic Literacy Week, in such an engaging way. Year 5 dressed up as 'words' for the assembly.
